As a promising season dawns ever closer upon us, a lot of you fellow league fans may be wondering, who will win the challenge cup and the big one(the grand final)?
Well me and fellow writer Jonny have cast our predictions for this upcoming season and we hope to hear responses from you.
For me, it has got to be a league and cup double for the Leeds Rhinos. The squad has brought in a couple of big name signings in Tom Briscoe from Hull Fc and 2013 World Cup starlet Paul Aiton from Wakefield Trinity. Leeds have always been a physical threat and I believe that this could be their most successful season yet. It is a promising year for Brian McDermott's men.
For Jonny, he believes that the Wigan Warriors will triumph in the Super League this year and the Warrington Wolves will take the cup. Wigan had a huge year last year with a league and cup double and Jonny firmly believes they can perform Grand Final heroics once again. Will the loss of star player Sam Tomkins be a key factor in this or will newly signed full back from the North Queensland Cowboys, Matty Bowen, step up to the plate and perform?
Jonny states that the Warrington Wolves will bounce back from Grand Final heartbreak and clinch the Tetley's Challenge cup for the fourth time. Will the Wolves prevail in this years competition without influential leader, Lee Briers, after he retired at the end of last season. Other key losses are captain Adrian Morley to Salford and Brett Hodgson to the Widnes Vikings. Can the Wolves prove us all wrong and clinch silverware this year, Jonny seems to think so!
Be sure to comment your predictions and look out for our match reports and team, player and try of the round every week.
Josh.
