Post-match review: Widnes Vikings vs London

Post-match review: Widnes vs London

Widnes go top of the league as they demolish London by 64 points to 10!

Whilst London did score the first try, it was Widnes who ran away with it in the end by running in a colossal 64 points. It was 30-6 at half time to the Vikings, who scored another six tries in the second half to finish off the rout.

Danny Tickle, the Widnes kicker, had a fantastic game, converting 10 of their 11 tries, one of which was scored by the man himself.

Kevin Brown scored a hattrick of tries to make sure of the Widnes win, while Jack Owens grabbed the first try of the season for the Vikings.

With that result, Widnes Vikings go top of the table on points difference, ahead of Saint Helens, who lie second on the same basis.

There were no injuries in the game, and the man of the match was Kevin Brown, the Widnes Vikings standoff. Joe Mellor, the Vikings scrum-half, kicked a 40-20 kick which led to one of the Widnes tries.

Post-match review: Wigan vs Huddersfield

Post-match review: Wigan vs Huddersfield

Last Friday's game was an interesting clash, but not as many would have expected.

In their game early game, the Warriors were well beaten by 24 points to 8 by the Giants, a scoreline many of you would not have predicted, I guess.

Everyone, it seemed, expected a close game, with the Grand Final winners facing the League Leaders Shield winners, but Huddersfield were the outright winners in the game.

Ian Thornley and Joe Burgess gained 8 points for the Warriors, whilst the victorious Huddersfield ran in 5 tries, with Jermaine McGillvary grabbing three and Scott Grix and Brett Ferres snatching the other two for the Giants.

Danny Brough also converted two of Huddersfield's five tries, earning his team a total of 24 points and also gaining what could be two valuable points over their close rivals, come the end of the season.

Injuries in the game:

Wigan Warriors: McIlorum (hamstring aggravation)
Huddersfield Giants: Larne Patrick, Shaun Lunt

So, what do you think about last Friday's game? Remember to post your comments and we'll be sure to take them into consideration!
